Welcome to Student Computing Services!

New Students

Before connecting to the Barnard Network, you must complete the Mandatory Computer Setup.

BCIT provides two wireless networks: Barnard Guest (for visitors on campus, including Columbia students and faculty), and Barnard Secure (for members of the Barnard community). Wireless service on both Barnard networks is available everywhere on campus, except for the residence halls at Cathedral Gardens and 601 W. 110th St. To connect to Barnard Secure simply enter in your Barnard username and password when prompted.

Please visit the New Student Information page to get acquainted with Barnard Computing Services, learn how to activate and access accounts, and complete important things to do before and after arriving on campus.

Returning Students

Welcome Back! In trying to help support your student needs better you will notice that more new printers have been installed in various Computer Labs throughout campus. We have also upgraded all of the monitors in every Computer Lab to 24" monitors to enhance your computing experience.

Also you will notice that the new printing system, Paw Print, has been installed in all locations where printing is available. Paw Print printing is cloud based, so simply send your print job to the one Paw Print queue and you can login to any Paw Print station on either Barnard or Columbia's campus to retrieve it.

As returning students and your experience using the various IT services provided to you, your feedback is important to us. Please feel free to provide us with feedback so that we can provide you with the best possible service.

For additional support,  you may use the following resources:
- BCIT’s website, which includes support for gBear and FAQs.
- Visit Google's Help Center, which has answers to many common questions.
